Hi All, Anybody ever seen this happen:
http://picasaweb.google.com/clrrsnd/UntitledAlbum#5313358945599046610 I have a lenovo T61, which carries an Intel GM965/GL960 graphics card. When using a dual monitor setup with different resolutions for laptop screen and monitor sometimes and only after a while the text becomes practically unreadable like shown. It affects all text, menus, terminal windows, etc. When I switch console (ctrl-alt-Fx) and back, sometimes it is fine again for a short while. This only happens in dual-monitor setup. I use xubuntu intrepid, xserver-xorg-video-intel version: 2:2.5.1-1ubuntu5~intrepid. My xorg.conf, xrandr and xdpyinfo is pasted below. Any ideas would be appreciated. Many thanks, Meindert Section "ServerLayout" Identifier "Default Layout" Screen "Default Screen" EndSection Section "Device" Identifier "Intel 965GM" Driver "intel" Option "monitor-VGA" "bar" Option "monitor-LVDS" "foo" EndSection Section "Monitor" Identifier "foo" Option "Position" "0 1024" EndSection Section "Monitor" Identifier "bar" Option "Above" "foo" Option "PreferredMode" "1280x1024" Option "Position" "0 0" EndSection Section "Screen" Identifier "Default Screen" Device "965GM" Monitor "foo" DefaultDepth 24 SubSection "Display" Depth 24 Modes "1680x1050" "1280x1024" "1024x768" "640x480" Virtual 1680 2074 EndSubSection EndSection xrandr: Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1680 x 2074, maximum 1680 x 2074 VGA connected 1280x1024+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 338mm x 270mm 1280x1024 60.0*+ 75.0 60.0 60.0* 1600x1024 60.2 1400x1050 60.0 1440x900 59.9 1280x960 75.0 60.0 60.0 1360x768 59.8 1152x864 75.0 75.0 75.0 70.0 60.0 1024x768 75.1 75.0 70.1 60.0 832x624 74.6 800x600 72.2 75.0 60.3 56.2 640x480 75.0 72.8 72.8 75.0 66.7 60.0 59.9 720x400 70.1 LVDS connected 1680x1050+0+1024 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 331mm x 207mm 1680x1050 60.1*+ 50.1 1600x1024 60.2 1280x1024 60.0 1440x900 59.9 1280x960 60.0 1360x768 59.8 1152x864 60.0 1024x768 60.0 800x600 60.3 56.2 640x480 59.9 TMDS-1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) xdpyinfo: name of display: :0.0 version number: 11.0 vendor string: The X.Org Foundation vendor release number: 10502000 X.Org version: 1.5.2 maximum request size: 16777212 bytes motion buffer size: 256 bitmap unit, bit order, padding: 32, LSBFirst, 32 image byte order: LSBFirst number of supported pixmap formats: 7 supported pixmap formats: depth 1, bits_per_pixel 1, scanline_pad 32 depth 4, bits_per_pixel 8, scanline_pad 32 depth 8, bits_per_pixel 8, scanline_pad 32 depth 15, bits_per_pixel 16, scanline_pad 32 depth 16, bits_per_pixel 16, scanline_pad 32 depth 24, bits_per_pixel 32, scanline_pad 32 depth 32, bits_per_pixel 32, scanline_pad 32 keycode range: minimum 8, maximum 255 focus: window 0x260000b, revert to Parent number of extensions: 30 BIG-REQUESTS Composite DAMAGE DOUBLE-BUFFER DPMS Extended-Visual-Information GLX MIT-SCREEN-SAVER MIT-SHM MIT-SUNDRY-NONSTANDARD RANDR RECORD RENDER SECURITY SGI-GLX SHAPE SYNC TOG-CUP X-Resource XC-APPGROUP XC-MISC XFIXES XFree86-DGA XFree86-Misc XFree86-VidModeExtension XINERAMA XInputExtension XKEYBOARD XTEST XVideo default screen number: 0 number of screens: 1 screen #0: dimensions: 1680x2074 pixels (338x418 millimeters) resolution: 126x126 dots per inch depths (7): 24, 1, 4, 8, 15, 16, 32 root window id: 0x94 depth of root window: 24 planes number of colormaps: minimum 1, maximum 1 default colormap: 0x20 default number of colormap cells: 256 preallocated pixels: black 0, white 16777215 options: backing-store NO, save-unders NO largest cursor: 64x64 current input event mask: 0x7a802c ButtonPressMask ButtonReleaseMask LeaveWindowMask ExposureMask StructureNotifyMask SubstructureNotifyMask SubstructureRedirectMask FocusChangeMask PropertyChangeMask number of visuals: 3 default visual id: 0x21 visual: visual id: 0x21 class: TrueColor depth: 24 planes available colormap entries: 256 per subfield red, green, blue masks: 0xff0000, 0xff00, 0xff significant bits in color specification: 8 bits visual: visual id: 0x22 class: DirectColor depth: 24 planes available colormap entries: 256 per subfield red, green, blue masks: 0xff0000, 0xff00, 0xff significant bits in color specification: 8 bits visual: visual id: 0x72 class: TrueColor depth: 32 planes available colormap entries: 256 per subfield red, green, blue masks: 0xff0000, 0xff00, 0xff significant bits in color specification: 8 bits This e-mail and any attachment is for authorised use by the intended recipient(s) only.
