Essentially if a distro pushes out this X server, and has a KMS/DRI2 setup already working this will break it, unless they also push out a new X driver set (granted this is just Intel + maybe ATI) However you look at it this is still a broken ABI from the user POV I'm not saying its good or bad broken.
