Hello,

I need to run an X server in a tiny x86 machine. I wanted to do so
using fb but whatever I do ends up with:

(EE) FBDEV(0): FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO succeeded but modified mode

linux26 2.6.27.29 (vt8623fb)
xorg-server 1.5.3
xf86-video-fbdev 0.4.0 (and later 0.4.1)

There's a fix in xserver 1.6.x to avoid a false positive of the check
above due to pixel clock rounding errors. If that doesn't help, there
may be a bug in vt8623fb.

is that fix the one from <https://bugzillafiles.novell.org/attachment.cgi?id=161573> or there is more? that patch alone didn't cause any visible change to me :(

I'm about to try kdrive and xorg-video-openchrome as alternatives

Thanks,
Alejandro Mery
