Presently, I am using gtk to create a drawable surface for cairo to draw on, but I am wondering whether or not gtk is slowing the drawing down a lot.
Therefor, I was wondering whether it is possible to do some drawing with cairo, but not using gtk windows. However, I would preferably have my drawable surface to be full screen (i.e. without borders).
I hope this is more informative.
Thanks a lot for you swift responses.

I just want to draw some stuff on screen, probably using cairo, but I want
this not in a window, but on the full screen.

That gives me zero new information.
