Hello. I am user of said driver (fpit) , and it worked fine

here there seem to be another unhappy user and also patch provided :)
is it some big deal to include it in xorg-drivers now?
Ask gentoo, as they'd be the ones who removed it from their distro - the
patch provided in that bug report came from X.Org upstream:
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/driver/xf86-input-fpit/commit/?id=7d203627e7e3e7a6f8d0e847ed650b0b89760c09
It does look like no one has pushed out a tarball release since Peter made
that fix - it certainly could use someone stepping up as maintainer if they
actually cared about it and had access to the hardware.
hmm, sorry if i ask about something obvious, but i am still bit confused,
if xorg-drivers-1.7 and up seem to contain fpit (but it is marked as
masked in use flags), shouldn't the patch just be moved along to this
package, instead of keeping separate fpit driver ?
simplest fix for users before anyone 'responsible' will react sounds like
just creating custom ebuild which patches 'old' driver, or new
xorg-drivers package to make fpit compile, question is which thing should
be patched? (excuse me, i'm just user...)
