I didn't mean that gnome-terminal is xterm but that I tested several
terminals, for example xterm and gnome-terminal, with the same
problem: my keymap does not work as expected.
no problem - many of the people who have made the changes which are
causing this behavior do post messages on this list. Perhaps they'll
followup by advising you what to do to remedy the situation.
