This is a complain about nouveau... not nv driver. With nv driver I have a working X, no KMS, but a working X, with nouveau driver the follow error is displayed. > ---------- snip ----------------------- > > Am Wednesday 12 January 2011 schrieb Maginot Junior: > >> [ 12.852] (II) LoadModule: "nouveau" > >> [ 12.852] (II) Loading /usr/X11/lib/X11/modules/drivers/nouveau_drv.so > >> [ 12.911] dlopen: /usr/X11/lib/X11/modules/drivers/nouveau_drv.so: > >> undefined symbol: nouveau_dri2_vblank_handler > >> [ 12.911] (EE) Failed to load > >> /usr/X11/lib/X11/modules/drivers/nouveau_drv.so [ 12.911] (II) > >> UnloadModule: "nouveau" > >> [ 12.911] (EE) Failed to load module "nouveau" (loader failed, 7) > > -> you compilation produced some invalid library. This night ymanton from #nouveau helped me with this problem, we could find that some libraries were linked against wrong libdrm and that I should use dri2 and fbcon wasn't being loaded, now its built in the kernel and I made some changes to nouveau driver installation. Now when booting I have a fb console and when drm nouveau assume the box hangs, only a cursor ("_") is displayed in the top left of the screen ... no special log is displayed, actually the logs looks okay, only this is shown inside gdm log, /usr/X11R6/bin/X: symbol lookup error: /usr/X11/lib/X11/modules/drivers/nouveau_drv.so: undefined symbol: BEGIN_RING ... this is the last line Sorry if I was rude to any one, was not my intention, and thanks for you attention to my problem.
