Hello to all. Hope you are well.

Sorry for this long post, but I'm stumped. I've been reading and experimenting for most of the day and think I could use some help.

My monitor is a Viewsonic VX2250wm-LED connected through a KVM.

Ubuntu 9.10 on a Intel 4 series integrated graphics controller achieves 1920x1080 with no X conf files.

I just installed Ubuntu 10.10 on a Biostar G31M board with a Intel 82G33/G31 Express Integrated Graphics Controller. The max res it can achieve is 1024x768.

I tried Ubuntu 11.04 and got the same result.

I compared the EDID data from both machines and it is the same. The i915 driver thinks it is invalid on the G31 although it appears to be the same as what the other machine sees.

From the G31 board ...
