What's the output of xrandr -q?
CTWM seems err... "matured" (aka old) - it can pot. not cope with xrandr driven 
multiscreen setups.
Can you move the pointer out of the visible area and to you have a dead area on 
the right (ie. is the desktop just shifted to the left?)
