We've tested multicast on VLANs, and it works fine (for us, in our 
configurations).

Please try without using the default-system-config and post logs and enough 
info to reproduce
the problem if if fails.

If you are using some non x86 system, try on x86 to make sure it's not some
platform specific issue.  I fixed some of that since the last release, so you
might try cloning the latest code from github.
