Hi everyone, I've just implemented a horizontal view mode, which I think works well -- feel free to try it out (cf. sourceforge git or cvs repository).
I'm not all that motivated for a number of the patches out there at the moment, and only have limited time -- but I wonder if it's time to take care of some complete no-brainers that are easy to review / implement and don't clutter the UI, and then make a minor release. So: suggestions from those of you who may have been keeping track of things better than me would be welcome. The two things I can think of are: - An option so a touch device always acts as hand tool. (This would be in the options menu, close to "Eraser tip" since the two are conceptually similar). The tricky part as discussed with Daniel is knowing what device name to look for (containing "touch" or "Touch" seems like a good idea, but doesn't seem to catch all cases). Daniel, did we reach a conclusion about what to do about device names? - An option to make the creation of new pages use default style paper (only if the current page is a PDF page? always?) The current behavior is to always imitate the current page, which some seem to find confusing when the current page is a PDF page. This would probably be only in the config file, perhaps turned off by default -- the page menu is already cluttered enough as it is, and non-power users can always do "Page -> Default paper" after creating the new page. Or is the request to create a completely blank white page of the same size as the PDF page that would be created, rather than a default-style page? (i.e., continue to create pages that "look like" the current one, but make an exception for PDF pages to make a blank white page instead?) Daniel, I think you have opinions on both of these items; let me know what you think. Also, any other items that seem similarly highly desirable, easy to implement (or review if already implemented somewhere), and useful to many users?
