my recommendation is the following: first, you need to know the number of pages of the each PDF file.
1. load one file, save the xoj file. exit xournal 2. then change the name to .xoj.gz, uncompress. 3. Now you inspect the file in xml format. You can easily create a script that creates all the xoj files Xournal is capable of reading the .xoj files compressed or uncompressed.
