I just put RH7.1 on an old p1-200 (no mmx) with a pci Voodoo 3 2000. X seems much slower than it should be, and 3D is a slide show. What should I be looking at for problem areas? Gtop shows Gtop as being largest consumer of cpu time. Still the system seems unresponsive. Is Linux really this slow on a P200? As for the 3D part, DRI seems to be working, yet software rendering is faster than OpenGL. Any suggestions on how to speed up X, SDL, OGL would be appreciated. I've spent hours crawling though XFree86.org and DRI docs to no avail.
