    Wow!  That card should be in a museum.  I don't remember the S3
driver in the SVGA server very well but I think I had an Option "SWCursor"
That you could put in the Section "Device" of the XF86Config that
would turn off the hardware cursor.  I'm surprised the SVGA server
worked but the S3 server didn't.  I never actually had S3 cards as
old as that and copied the SVGA server's 801/805 support from the
S3 server.

  3.3.6 is a bit newer but I don't know if that will work any better.
