There was talk before about DRI and it's effect on 2d ram allocation. I think i heard if you compiled X with dri support, the server would be 3d biased. Is that correct? Is there any real 2d performance improvement available if one doesn't compile DRI? Or, would DRI actually accelerate 2d X functions? Finally, will 2d hardware SDL applications (like aviplay) suffer by not having the server compiled with DRI? As of now i dont load dri and things are alright, but I'm always looking for ways to make things a little better. Here's a x11perf readout. It's not included to save risk of being yelled at about a 28K attachment. http://psuedomode.homeip.net/x11perf_output Athlon 850 with AGPGART compiled and the matrox server (g450) set for agp mode 4 x11perf - X11 performance program, version 1.5 The XFree86 Project, Inc server version 40199001 on :0.0 Anyone with some extra time and a G450, it would be nice to see if my timings are comparable. When moving windows around it doesn't seem like it's moving as smooth as this system should be capable of. _______________________________________________ Xpert mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xpert
