Hello, I would like to find out whether something should work.
Currently I am running RedHat's XFree86 4.1.0-0.8.6 and using a Rage
Fury Pro video card. I am planning on upgrading to a Radeon video card
soon and want to get the Radeon VE so that I can use the DVI port on it
when I get my LCD, and until then I plan on using a DVI->VGA cable to
use my current monitor. I have the most current patch available from
the linux-kernel list to enable Radeon VE (both revisions) in the linux
frame buffer. I was wondering whether this setup should work or if I am
going to need to upgrade to CVS XFree86? Again I don't even use DRI at
all, I usually use one or two consoles in frame buffer mode and also use
X windows but I would only ever be using the DVI port and never using
DRI. Thank you for any information you can give me, please cc: me as I
am not subscribed.
