The energy start power saving power down features are not working for me and
I noticed that the bios ( expansion rom ) is not enabled on my card ( ati
xpert@play ). Does X call the video bios to do this? I think I have figured
out how to use setpci to enable the rom and assign it an address ( I assume
it should be 0xC0000 ) but do I need to do anything special to tell the
kernel not to use those memory addresses for system memory? For that matter,
what happens to that physical memory when those addresses have been assigned
to the expansion rom?
