I have a 4 button cordless Logitech wheel mouse marked:
Cordless Mouseman(R) Wheel
M/N M-RK53
P/N 851088-0000
S/N LZS03365262
(some of the above may be irrelevant since it came bundled with a
UK keyboard). I'm using it in USB mode, although I have also had success
with the PS/2 adaptors.
With the config file at
http://www.dpmms.cam.ac.uk/~werdna//xfree86-devel/XF86Config-4.logitech
the side button emulates the middle (wheel) button and
the wheel scrolls xterm windows.
Note that I also have a 3 button Microsoft Codless Wheel mouse
active on the PS/2 port, so the config file is more complicated
than it would be with one mouse.
(Option "Buttons" "6" doesn't make the side button do anything
different, as far as I can see).
