In short I can say that, I compiled the 2.4.3-12 kernel and now if execute
startx I get some erros. I had attached the XFree86.0.log file whith this
mail.

For compiling kernel I executed the following commands
-- make menuconfig
-- make modules
-- make modules_install

In long, I had some problem with my soundcard and downloaded the 'cmpci'
drivers from CMI site and as stated in the steps for installation I compiled
the kernel (2.4.3-12). My sound problem has gone, but I was upset to see
that I can't start the xserver.
I hope it is some thing mistake in my part during the compiling of
kernel(Some configurations using 'make menuconfig') OR some other, but can't
make out. I am attaching the 'XFree86.0.log'(zipped) file along this mail.
