I use the window manager to set the background or invoke it with something like: display -display :0.0 -window root /usr/local/share/WindowMaker/Backgrounds/parsec_wallpaper.jpg &
but I still get tiled backgrounds. Yes, I was running the same configuration (dual head and Xinerama) with 4.0.2 and I did not hae this problem.
