   I think you just put

Load "V4L"

   in the Section "Module" in the XF86Config file.  It was my impression
that this only works with V4L and not V4L2 (nobody wrote a V4L2 module
as far as I can tell).  But I'm not an expert on V4L.  I believe that
if you have V4L and load the module the "xvinfo" program that comes
with XFree86 will tell you which adaptors the V4L module found and
configured.
