As far as I know, I'm running the same binaries and config files. That is to say, I haven't done anything special in switching runlevels except to change the default in /etc/inittab. Here's something interesting I found, though. If I pass vga=792 to the kernel (to get a decent res on the boot messages), the flicker goes away when it's in runlevel 5. Actually, I've found that it doesn't have to do with the runlevel at all - the only determining factor is if I start off with a framebuffer video driver or not. If I start with one - no flicker (actually, it's still there, just not very pronounced). If I don't start with a framebuffer video driver, the flicker is greatly enhanced. Does anyone know why this is? - Dimitri _______________________________________________ Xpert mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xpert
