Hi to all just reading some of the errors on Xinerama setup . I have found a article on how to set this up and then I have found another way .....so hopefully this will help some people . Im running Mandrake 8 lastest kernel ver 4 Xf86 .Please note some of the Vid Cards are not supported on ver 4 Xf86 some be aware . Jump to the /root dir and run Xree86 -configure to generate XF86Config.new file this will take into account the current setup .ie mine is 3 pci and one agp all have the same chipset ie sis which is supported . Copy this XF86Config.new ......cp XF86Config.ew to /etc/X11/XF86Config ......make sure no other config config.old exist . If the XF86 X server comes up then it cant see this new file . Suggest no to use vi to copy and paste monitor and card and screen sections . To get high res dont use ctrl+alt++ or - this screws the screen up . Use the highest res you want and remove all other lines with diff res . Set the default Color depth to 24 /32 . The only probs that I have now is that the pc is working a lot harder to run the screens or maybe resources are low . Pc is 450mhz/256ram and it will run two screens well but four is slow .
If any one can help with my speed prob of four screens and xinerama ........post or email me [EMAIL PROTECTED] > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [SMTP:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Wednesday, October 31, 2001 7:56 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Xpert digest, Vol 1 #1254 - 16 msgs > > Send Xpert mailing list submissions to > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit > http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xpert > or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > You can reach the person managing the list at > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific > than "Re: Contents of Xpert digest..." > > > Today's Topics: > > 1. tdfx driver crashes when changing resolutions (Manuel McLure) > 2.
