I have a Trident CyberBladeXPm/8 chipset on a laptop with a 1400x1050 LCD. Currently I am limited to 1280x1024 resolution, but I would like to utilize the full LCD. I'm hoping that this is something that is possible without the missing technical information from Trident.
The driver does receive DCC information from the chipset, this is what I get: (II) TRIDENT(0): Manufacturer: TOS Model: 5086 Serial#: 0 (II) TRIDENT(0): Year: 1990 Week: 0 (II) TRIDENT(0): EDID Version: 1.3 (II) TRIDENT(0): Digital Display Input (II) TRIDENT(0): Max H-Image Size [cm]: horiz.: 27 vert.: 21 (II) TRIDENT(0): Gamma: 1.00 (II) TRIDENT(0): DPMS capabilities: StandBy Suspend; RGB/Color Display (II) TRIDENT(0): First detailed timing is preferred mode (II) TRIDENT(0): redX: 0.000 redY: 0.000 greenX: 0.000 greenY: 0.000 (II) TRIDENT(0): blueX: 0.000 blueY: 0.000 whiteX: 0.000 whiteY: 0.000 (II) TRIDENT(0): Supported VESA Video Modes: (II) TRIDENT(0): 640x480@60Hz (II) TRIDENT(0): 800x600@60Hz (II) TRIDENT(0): 1024x768@60Hz (II) TRIDENT(0): 1280x1024@75Hz (II) TRIDENT(0): Manufacturer's mask: 0 (II) TRIDENT(0): Supported Future Video Modes: (II) TRIDENT(0): #0: hsize: 1280 vsize 1024 refresh: 60 vid: 32897 (II) TRIDENT(0): #1: hsize: 1400 vsize 1050 refresh: 60 vid: 16528 (II) TRIDENT(0): #2: hsize: 1600 vsize 1200 refresh: 60 vid: 16553 (II) TRIDENT(0): Monitor name: TOSHIBA Inte (II) TRIDENT(0): Monitor name: rnal 1400x10 (II) TRIDENT(0): Monitor name: 50 Panel (--) TRIDENT(0): Revision is 99 (==) TRIDENT(0): Using SW cursor (--) TRIDENT(0): Found CyberBladeXPm/8 chip (--) TRIDENT(0): RAM type is SGRAM (**) TRIDENT(0): VideoRAM: 16384 kByte (--) TRIDENT(0): TFT Panel 1280x1024 found (--) TRIDENT(0): Memory Clock is 120.00 MHz (==) TRIDENT(0): Min pixel clock is 12 MHz (**) TRIDENT(0): Max pixel clock is 230 MHz I want to move the Future Video Mode #1 into a supported mode. From what I can tell, the TFT Panel size output is just the highest value that is found in the LCD structure in trident_driver.c. My guess is that by adding the appropriate line to the structure that a higher mode can be enabled? I was given a ModeLine for this resolution by a Toshiba rep in their online support forum, I am just unsure of how to translate it into structure: ModeLine "1400x1050" 107.85 1400 1450 1500 1999 1050 1058 1070 1150 Each entry in the LCD[] struct has 14 entries, but I can only create 11 from the above modeline, and adding 1 for the counter that appears to be at the start, that's still only 12. I'm ready and willing to test this out, and help is appreciated.
