Hi,

I'm running X 4.0.3 under RedHat 7.? on a laptop (Asus S8600) with
Silicon Motion Lynx3DM. Laptop has an internal 1024x768 LCD, that works
fine.

However, when I want to use external display in 1280x1024 mode,
things get strange. I turn off internal LCD.
 X on startup reports 1280x1024 @ 75.
However, display (KDS RAD-7 17 inch LCD, 1280x1024 supported
at 60 and at 75) reports 1280x1024 @ 60. The picture is stable, but the
last vertical
fifth part of the screen is the same as previous fifth - i.e., I'm
getting
1024x1024, with the 256 pixel columns from 765 to 1024 seen twice.

Almost the same thing happens when I run X in 1280x1024@60.

I thought it might be display, but the same thing happens with my old
trusty
IDEK Liyama (that can handle up to 1600x1200).

Any comments or suggestions? Perhaps, someone seen this problem before?

I'll appreciate if you reply to me directly (Cc:) in addition to the
list reply.

Sincerely,
Garry
