What do you want it to do differently ? XFree86 doesn't do any thing different just because a monitor has been detected. It does do some things differently if it detects that the monitor has particular properties, but I think these can all be set in the config file. Look for DisplaySize in `man XF86Config` for the most immediately obvious difference that DDC (Display Data Channel) can make. -- Dr. Andrew C.
