I have used Scitech display doctor in another operating system before, to use 768x1024 ok, which implies it is possible depending on the hardware. >I did a search on the web and the only information I could find >suggested it would work if I turned around the numbers in the >mode section of my XF86Config, but it doesn't work. Mode "768x1024" you mean I presume? If so, that would be it, but you also would need to have a modeline for that mode. Try out one of the modeline calculators that are out there on the web by searching with google. You'll need some technical information on your monitor, but it should be possible to generate a 768x1024 modeline without much difficulty. Many other exotic modes are also available depending on your monitor and video hardware's capabilities. Good luck.
