Yes, I am writing a python module to interface with a Vim server. Vim uses X 
protocol to communicate on X-capable platforms. So I need to learn a little X 
to talk with Vim. Maybe a little, maybe a lot.

I use Qt (PyQt) to do regular ol' development stuff.

I doubt these kind of apps use the features I am looking for in particular. 
Just the docs, sir, and I'll be on me merry way.

And Xlib is exactly what I am most interested in, but X Protocol is a little 
interesting.
