I have exactly the same problem, but I can duplicate it - it freezes at logout only when I run any program using Xv extension. When I run only "normal" X programs or OpenGL programs, I can logout normally. I'm running RedHat 7.1, Mike A. Harris's XFree86-4.1.99.2-0.1.6 with Radeon 7500, DRI enabled, Pentium II and Intel BX.
