Moderating the list would significantly slow the flow of information; I'm hoping to eliminate the viruses with some simple filters. I'll also investigate whether we can get some reasonable "virus" checkers to run on mailing list mail. So far, the viruses have not come from any particular location, and several have come from people legitimately subscribed to the list. > Not needing to be a member is part of the problem and should be > incorporated into the solution i feel. The reason for accepting postings from non-members is largely because most of us have many email addresses, and use different addresses for different activities. Please understand that no-one is more interested in fixing this little virus problem -- the viruses themselves are harmless, but the tremendous flood of mail I receive after each such message from various helpful mail systems is not pleasant.
