that isn't correct, gatos tries to use all multimedia things on ATIs.
Currently well working is video display and tv-in (aka XVideo extensions).
There are experimental TVout patches and even a v4l module for kernel
(capturing), which may or may not work on your card, and may freeze your
machine.
