I recently installed Slackware 8.0 (which uses XFree86 4.1.0) on my 
Fujitsu Lifebook 645T. The said laptop uses the Chips and Technologies 
65550 drivers. Before, I installed RedHat 6.2, which I think uses 
XFree86 3.3.6, and did some changes to the XF86Config file 
(http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/Lab/5735/1/Linux_on_fuji.html).

Basically I changed the HorizSync from 31.5 - 37.9 to 30 - 37.9 and 
the VertRefresh from 50 - 90 to 48 - 90. I also added the modeline: 
Modeline "800x600a" 35.4 800 840 968 1056 600 601 605 628 +hsync +vsync 
 It worked with my RedHat 6.2, but when I type startx on my laptop with 
Slackware 8.0, I get "Fatal server error:
Caught signal 11.  Server aborting. "

I worked before, how come it doesn't work with XFree 4.1.0 anymore?
