I'm trying to run Linux under VMWare with the vmware driver distributed as part of X instead of the one provided by VMWare directly, and a Debian dexconf-managed server configuration.
I'm not having luck; the server fails with mfbQueryBestSize unresolved and failure to set up a write combiner range. Can anyone point to an error in my configuration or suggest a point for research? A google search shows that others have simply stepped back to VMWare's own release of the vmware driver on encountering the mfbQueryBestSize.
