The problem is, I don't like the nVidia binaries. And not because they're binaries. It seems that every time I compile a particular linux version. I have to recompile the kernel-dependent binary. I don't have to reinstall or recompile XFree86 proper just because I decided to go from kernel 2.4.17rc1 to 2.4.17rc2. RPM's make the binary installation less of a chore. But I don't have an RPM-based system. Wouldn't it be nice if the binaries were simple cp <path-to-driver> /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/ affairs? _______________________________________________ Xpert mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xpert
