No. The Radeon 7000/7200/7500 boards's display controller is closely related to the "original" Radeon, enough so that this should theoretically work. The 8500, however, has some significant differences from both the 7x00 Radeons and the "original" Radeon that make it truly incompatible with XFree86 4.1.0's Radeon driver. However, there's a 2D-only Radeon 8500 driver in XFree CVS now, which would at least get the board working. I don't know ATI's intentions as far at Linux 3D support for the Radeon 8500 goes though. Anyone else know what the scoop is there?
