Hi people,

I have a Toshiba Satellite S1800-814 laptop which, I believe, has the
Trident CyberbladeXP chipset in it.

I've searched the web, and partially through the archive of this mailing
list, and I see that people have a lot of problems with the Cyberblade
chipsets.

Well, I'm a little different in so much as the trident driver does work for
me and produces *almost* perfect results.

The only problem I have is that the display gets .. well, a bit "snowy" when
moving windows around. Actually, it's more like the "sparklies" you see on a
weak satellite TV broadcast. If nothing's happening on the desktop, it's
fine .. but as soon as things start moving around I get the artefacts, which
appear to be odd pixels being displayed in the wrong place. This happens on
the LCD display and on the external monitor.

I've tried fiddling with the XF86Config file in a hundred (almost!)
different ways, but I can't lose the sparklies. If I use the framebuffer
driver I see no artefacts, but it's soooo slow.

I'll refrain from boring you all with my XF86Config just yet ... but does
anybody know what might cause this problem and, more importantly, if there's
a solution?

Many thanks!!

sjb
