Is anyone else having trouble extracting the latest source from the CVS
repository?
I've been having a devil of a time the last day or so. Everything is
incredibly slow or just hangs.
I know CVS pretty well, I generated the the PDF document for CVS 1.11. And
I've been using it for years.
But this has me stumped.
If I just do a
cvs checkout xc test
I get everything. But I don't want the absolute latest, I wanted one of
the taged versions like xf-4.1.99.5. So I
cvs checkout -r xf-4_1_99_5 xc test
it just hangs. After two hours I kill it.
cvs checkout -r xf-4_1_branch xc test
Same thing, just hangs.
After doing
cvs checkout xc test
I do
cvs update text
And it slowly grinds away for a few hours. Eventually it gets to the end
of the tree at
/test/xsuite/xtest/tset/XiPROTO/ungrbdvky
and just hangs there. It never returns complete.
I've tried both servers. Same results. I've tried it on a stable system
(2.2 kernel, CVS 1.11) and my new machine (kernel 2.4) no change. Yet when
I ping anoncvs.xfree.org, I get 25 msec response.
If CVS extraction is working or not working for anyone else, I'd like to
know. Is the problem on my side or XFree86 side. TIA for any assitance.
