Hi experts,

I'm desperately trying to make some stupid design software export it's display to my 
Linux desktop. I already learned that it needs an 8 bit colorplane and according to 
the support it should be able to handle also a 24+8 bit pseudocolor display.
I know this question has been asked several times before, but it was never really 
answered in a applicable way.
In this newsgroup I read that I have to activate the overlay option in order to make 
my Matrox Millenium G200 video card support this mode, but when I do this my X doesn't 
come up any more (you can find the .log file below). Do I have to enable an eight bit 
visual in pseudocolor mode? If yes how to do it? I'm not an X-expert so please don't 
assume to much knowledge and keep you answer somehow simple since this whole 'visual' 
stuff is confusing me at the moment. I still haven't understood what their purpose is 
and the documentation concerning this topic is quite disappointing. After the 
XFree.log file you can find my current XF86Config-4 file in order to see what I 
already messed up.
