I'm trying to get UXGA working on my Dell Inspiron 4100. It seems like EDID
is reporting the wrong information on my screen. I have a couple of
questions:

Does the "nv" driver support G2Go at all? If not, would it be possible for
me to add?
I'm on the XF86 developer list, but I have yet to actually contribute any
code.

Since "nv" isn't working, I'm using the NVidia drivers. I can get a working
screen
at 1400x1050, but a strip about 256 pixels high at the bottom of the screen
is
a duplicate of the top and there is a black column about 200 pixels wide at
the
right of the screen. Otherwise it works okay.

I've noticed that EDID is reporting incorrect width and height for my screen
(see
the attached log file). Is the EDID information "interpreted" by the nvidia
driver?
I'm curious if this is a bug in the NVidia drivers or elsewhere. I've tried
disabling
EDID using the NVidia "IgnoreEDID" option, which allows me to generate a
screenful
of garbage at 1600x1200.

I'm guessing that the NVidia driver is not working due to the incorrect EDID
info.
I'm also not sure how to get tech specs on my screen, since I can't find
them
at Dell. Do these specs really matter, or should the default 1600x1200 60Hz
modeline work regardless?

My next step is to try manually setting up a modeline. Does this seem like
the right thing to do? If so, any tips?

Thanks for any help,
