I did, and it seemed to be confirmed by replies the posting got. In fact some 
seemed to imply it was worse than I had thought.

It was in a British publication called Micro Mart. I haven't contacted them 
for their proof.

With good reason don't you think. Look what happened to Nokia's micro 
browser. Look what happened to Sega (I think it was) when they happily agreed 
to co-develop the X-Box. Look what happened to Kerberos. Need I go on ?

It not so silly if it's true and if M$ turn round to all OpenGL developers 
and say "you are now in breach of our patents" !!!
