I've checked in some experimental flat panel support for the
"nv" driver into CVS. WARNING: this is not well tested and
incorrect timings sent to flat panels can damage them! So use
it at your own risk.

  You have to add:
    Option "FlatPanel"
to the config file to turn on support since the driver cannot
distinguish between a panel or CRT.

This works for me on NV11 (including a Dell Inspiron 8000 laptop
I tested on), NV15 and NV20. It might work on NV5, but I haven't
tested it.

The restrictions are that you have to boot to the panel (you
can't start on a CRT and have X come up on the panel). You'll want
to run at the panel's native resolution because the scaler isn't
working - lower resolutions just get centered.

                                Mark.
