ello- I'm attempting to make full use of a 24" monitor we had lieing in the lab and not having much luck. I'm trying to get X 4.2 to fill the full width of the screen. It says no modes found for 1900x1200 and then falls back to 1600x1200 and looks great, just with the evil twin of the letterbox'd lines on the sides.
I've gleaned some info off google and tried to set it up with that info and stuff in the X logs. Here's that info: http://sunsolve.sun.com/handbook_pub/Devices/Monitor/MONITOR_Color_24_Premium_CRT.html Supported Resolutions / Timings Pixel Resolution Horizontal Frequency Vertical Frequency Pixel Frequency 1280 ? 800 64.4 kHz 76.2 Hz 101.2 MHz 1440 ? 900 71.8 kHz 76 Hz 135 MHz 1600 ? 1000 68.5 kHz 66 Hz 135 MHz 1600 ? 1000 79.9 kHz 76 Hz 170.1 MHz 1920 ? 1200 87.1 kHz 70.3 Hz 219.3 MHz (II) NV(0): clock: 219.4 MHz Image Size: 474 x 296 mm (II) NV(0): h_active: 1920 h_sync: 1944 h_sync_end 2172 h_blank_end 2516 h_border: 0 (II) NV(0): v_active: 1200 v_sync: 1201 v_sync_end 1204 v_blanking: 1240 v_border: 0 rivafb: PCI nVidia NV4 framebuffer ver 0.9.2a (RIVA-TNT2, 32MB @ 0xF4000000) uname -r 2.4.17 The error from the logs: (II) NV(0): Not using mode "1920x1200" (no mode of this name) (--) NV(0): Virtual size is 1600x1200 (pitch 1600) (**) NV(0): Default mode "1600x1200": 175.5 MHz, 81.2 kHz, 65.0 Hz (II) NV(0): Modeline "1600x1200" 175.50 1600 1664 1856 2160 1200 1201 1204 1250 +hsync +vsync I've tried several different Modelines in the monitor section of the config but it doesn't seem to see it. For the full logs and config see: http://blinky-lights.org/XFree86.0.log http://blinky-lights.org/XF86Config It's bound to be something simple and I'm just missing it.
