My video card is flaking out and so I need a new one. I am planning on getting a large flat panel display in a few months, so I looked only at cards that provide a DVI output. There are some versions of the Radeon VE that do just this, and meet all my minimal performance needs.
However, there are two things I can't seem to figure out. One, does Xfree86 support using the DVI output of the Radeon VE? I see messages in the list referring to problems with this, but it wasn't clear if the problem was dual display or just the DVI itself. And secondly, I can't figure out what the maximum display resolution of the Radeon is on the DVI output. ATI's site doesn't have it, nothing in the Xfree86 documentation mentions any limits at all. But I know that the DVI spec is limited by its maximum frequency (165 MHz) and some cards support only 1280x1024 from the DVI port. I need support for 1600x1200. Thanks for any help/comments/suggestions! _________________________________________________________________ Join the worlds largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com _______________________________________________ Xpert mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xpert
