> Can a nvidia riva tnt2 M64 support this? Other option would be to buy an ati
Dunno about the tnt2. I once had a Hitachi fixed frequency monitor atteched to a nvidia riva 128 based card. Worked like a charm. I can't think of any reasons why you shouldn't be able use the monitor on the tnt2, but I could be wrong. > Am I also right thinking I will only be able to use the monitor under X (no > console or boot messages)? That's were the problems arise. The bios normally initializes the gfx chip to display standard vga, which often isn't what highend sun monitors displays. So until you reprogram the gfx chip your monitors display is going to be garbled. Either waiting for X to start or enabling framebuffer support in linux (if you need to see linux startup msg) will work. One last thing to consider is powermangement. You need to make sure that the converter cable will work with the monitor in that regard (so that the monitor get the "wake up" clue) Regards Thomas, Denmark _______________________________________________ Xpert mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xpert
