When I start X (through startx) it finds the correct resolution of my monitor
and displays it nicely. When I now switch to a console (CTRL-ALT-Fx) and then
back to X again it only uses about 3/4 of the display wide, leaving a black
strip on the left side. Also the picture is rather distorted. I'm using the
fbdev-driver on an ATI Rage Pro.

Is there any log or could I force a bug report (i.e. could CTRL-ALT-BS create a
report?) or how can I document this problem?

I know my monitor is rather awkward when a slightly different resolution is
used. I'm currently using version 4.1.0 and as much as I remember it worked
correct in earlier 4.x releases.
