When I run glxgears with XFree86-4.2.0 (linux kernel 2.4.17)
with the savage driver, horizontal glitches appear continuously.
These go away the moment I quit glxgears. Its reproducible.
I am using Mesa-4.0.1 that comes with mandrake-8.2beta3.
The problem also appears for 2D video applications (which have nothing to
do with Mesa) as well.
None of these problems were there with X-4.1.0 and the same (1.1.20)
version of the savage driver.
Here's the XFree86 log and XF86Config files:
XFree86 Version 4.2.0 / X Window System

If the server is older than 6-12 months, or if your card is
newer than the above date, look for a newer version before
reporting problems. (See http://www.XFree86.Org/)
