Howdy. I am one of the authors of Linux from Scrath via RPM (www.puxedo.org/lvr). I
have been working an rpm build of X for some time, and have found the
internationalization to be quite a bear. I think X is an absolutely phenominal suite,
and that locales are most welcome, but the package is becoming absolutely huge. What
I'm trying to do is seperate out subpackages into locales, but it's not so cut and
dried. In the old days (not so long ago), ISO-8859-1 was mostly the only thing
involved. Now days, though, there are many more, and I'm not quite sure what falls
where. Obviously, we need English support for X to run, but I've been unable to
determine, specifically, from all of the fonts.alias files, which font does what.
Additionally, the locale modules and misc may overlap. Does anyone have any info as to
exactly which languages belong to which files? Actually, a detailed doc as to exactly
what each of the hundreds of files in X does would be most welcome (most wouldn't
bother, but packagers certainly will).

Thanks,
Jason
