I am currently running rh7.2, X4.1.0, with a Radeon card on a i686. Would recompiling X for the i686 arch produce a faster binary? If so what would those optimizations be?
Does the current version, 4.2.0, contain any speed improvements over previous releases? What is the progress of X? Are continuing versions just adding new features or is their an effort on reducing and cleaning up the code?
