I already post my question last week but did'nt get any answer. I try
again:

When I launch X, XFree4.2 with driver mga (mga from XFree4.2 or from
matrox-driver2.0) with HWcursor "TRUE", HAL "TRUE" (I use a DVI flat
screen), I get a big striped cursor (looking like a code bar)witch is
not usable.

With SWcursor it work fine but much more slowly; I really need to use
HWcursor (HWcursor yes) because I get better performance for my X
server (benched with Xbench and notice by users).

mgadriver1.4.3 (compiled in XFree4.1 and Xfree4.2) work fine with
HWcursor and HAL (on both flat dvi screens and trinitron screens) but I
get SIG11 exit.

I put my problem on matrox forum
(http://forum.matrox.com/mgaforum/Forum2/HTML/001421.html) an get this
answer:
"This will happen with the standard X driver and the Matrox beta driver.
Some changes were done to X and the mga driver under XF420 which cause
this.
There is currently no other way to get a decent cursor except to use
the software cursor if the hardware cursor fails."

Could I get a more encouraging response?
Thanks,
