Hello. I'm sending this E-mail here because I seem to have increasing difficulty with my graphic chip for each new realese of Xfree. I have a Toshiba Satellite with a Trident Cyber 9525/DVD chipset. Back to Red Hat 7.0, which still used XF86 3.3.6, I could use the "Accel" option with 24 bpp without problems. With RH 7.1 I had to give up 24 bpp to 16bpp and now, with RH7.2 I had to give up the acceleration and use the "NoAccel" option.
The problem is that when I use either "Accel" or 24bpp or both, I get a line of garbled images near the bottom of the display, like several small negatives of the whole screen. This is really anoying, because they always seat on top of all applications I open. Is that a problem of the modelines I'm using or a bug on the chip? Thank you. -- Rudi Gaelzer Institute for Physical Science and Technology University of Maryland College Park, MD 20742 USA Phone: +1-301-405 4839 FAX: +1-314 9363 Registered Linux user #153741 _______________________________________________ Xpert mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xpert
